The Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Screening Service uses the HA-ELISA kit (K-1200) to quantify HA in biological samples. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a high molecular weight anionic polysaccharide (1,000-10,000 kD) composed of repeating disaccharides. Many chronic liver diseases, including infection, toxicity, genetic, autoimmunity, and malignancy result in liver inflammation and an increase in circulating HA levels. HA levels correspond with severity of disease.
- Echelon has 25 years of ELISA expertise and 15 years experience in the HA field.
- Your samples are cataloged and stored according to your requirements.
- The HA Screening Service will run each sample in duplicate.
- Results are provided as an average of the duplicate points in ng/mL HA.
- Usually, results are provided 2 weeks from receipt of samples. We can accommodate tighter schedules if needed.

Description
Assay Details
HA is quantified using the HA-ELISA kit (K-1200). The HA ELISA is a sensitive and robust method for quantification of HA in a competitive ELISA format. The concentration of HA in the sample is determined using a standard curve of known amounts of HA.
Assay Range: 50 – 1600 ng/mL
Sensitivity: 25 ng/mL
Sample Considerations
Echelon’s HA ELISA can detect varying sizes of HA. The assay performs best with HA molecules that are greater than 25 repeating units (dimers). We suggest customers include known reference samples for both normal and disease states.
Sample Volume: 250 µL for duplicate data points
Sample Type: purified HA, human and animal biological fluids, and cell supernatants
Molecular Weight: The HA ELISA performss best with HA molecules that are greater than 25 repeating units (dimers).
Storage and shipment of samples:
- Freeze all samples before shipping and ship on 3-5 lbs of dry ice, if possible.
- If samples cannot be frozen, use leakproof caps and vials.
- Label vials well. If vials leak, the solution can remove poor labeling.
- Please ensure all shipments containing human tissue or fluids are appropriately labeled as biohazard and packaged to prevent leakage during transport.
- Contact your service coordinator and let them know the samples are on their way.
Cost
Standard pricing is for each sample to be ran in duplicate wells. This means that 20 samples = 40 assay wells. If you need to run greater or fewer samples, contact us for pricing. If you want your samples ran in singlet or triplicate, let us know! We will adjust pricing.
