Chitosan, the deacetylated derivative of chitin, has attracted considerable attention in recent years. Because of its properties, it is particularly suited to applications such as biomedical aids, tissue engineering, drug delivery, packaging materials and microcapsules for diverse end-uses. Labeled chitosan is used for tracing chitosan used in a biological system.
