MG-115 (Z-Leu-Leu-Nva-CHO) is a potent, cell permeable inhibitor of the 20S proteosome. It forms a reversible hemiacetal adduct and can also inhibit cathepsins and calpains. It reduces degradation of ubiquitinated proteins and blocks proteolytic conversion of protein precursors. MG-115 is known to induce the heat shock response and apoptosis.
